Blizzard never told users about the problem and the patch was only disclosed after the security reseacher mentioned it on Twitter in late January 2018. In early December 2017, a critical vulnerability (DNS Rebinding flaw) in the Blizzard Update Agent was reported on (apparently part of the app is based on Chromium).
